Barcelona Chair by Kaare Klint
Denmark, c1940s
A “Barcelona” or “Red” chair in black leather with nail head trim. Designed in 927 by Kaare Klint for the lecture hall of the Danish Museum of Art & Design in Copenhagen. The chair came to be know as the “Barcelona “ chair after winning the 1929 Grand Prix medal at the Barcelona world expo. Made by master cabinetmaker Rud. Rasmussens Snedkerier.
